Temperance and the Magician is a trialogue between two artists and one symbolic system. Our creative work is a shared undertaking, merging notions of the individual and stretching expectations of rational thinking and fixed hierarchies of being.
Collaborators:
Tarot is a symbolic system, divinatory technology, and collaborative artist working across archetype, structure, and speculative logic. With a practice spanning over five centuries, Tarot engages language, image, and recursion to generate meaning through pattern, inversion, and chance. Its work is often site-responsive, psychically attuned, and open to interpretation.
Wells is an interdisciplinary artist and curator. Recent work includes commission series for From the Other Side at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (2023) and PhD project The Alchemy of Auto//Mysticism: Subjectivity(s) from the In-Between exhibited at Fiona Sidney Myer Gallery, VCA/MCM, Melbourne (2022). Her work has been included in solo or group exhibitions across Australia and overseas.
Bufardeci is an artist, writer and teacher. She has been practising for over 25 years. She has participated in major international exhibitions including: NGV Triennial (2018) and Asia-Pacific Triennial (2012). Her work has been included in solo and group exhibitions locally, nationally and overseas and is in the collections of major museums and galleries in Australia.
