Specifics of Location was conceived for the group show “The Pragmatics of Inscription”, curated by Bernhard Sachs at Linden Gallery, Melbourne in October 2000. The piece sought to express the finite possibility of describing space by using a global positioning system unit. A row of evenly spaced pin pricks were placed across one wall in two of the gallery spaces. The exact location of each pin prick was then identified in graphite.
