ColourPhonics (2001)

digital prints; varying dimensions

ColourPhonics is a system of language representation. It is based on a translation of the International Phonetic Alphabet into colour. Each phonetic symbol is given a unique colour. When translated into ColourPhonics each language takes on its own colour code. Variations on a language’s unique code occur with varying degrees in the translation of dialects and accents. ColourPhonics offers harmony to all languages across the globe.

In 2001 this series was exhibited at Spare Room, RMIT, Melbourne, and at Artissima, Torino.
